On-Camera Cold Reading Workshop

This workshop strengthens on-camera performance skills, encourages collaboration between actors, writers, and directors, and provides real-world cold-reading experience similar to professional auditions.

Participants will:

• Learn how to quickly analyze and perform a scene
  Practice receiving and applying direction
  Perform a cold read on camera
  Receive their recorded performance for review

Actors learn:

• How to quickly identify character, tone, stakes, and objective
  How to make bold but grounded choices
  How to listen and react authentically

Writers/Directors learn:

• How actors interpret their material
  How to communicate adjustments efficiently

• Participants are paired (actor-actor or actor-reader)
  5-minute prep time per scene
  Instructor circulates to give coaching
