Women in Film & TV – Florida (WIFT-FL), a non-profit
professional membership organization dedicated to helping women
(and men) reach the highest levels of achievement in film,

announced today the 2009 Board of Directors, including their new
president, Robin Wright.

Women in Film & Television – Florida to Host National
LUNAFEST Film Festival at Harmony’s Lakeshore
Park
|
LUNAFEST, the fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting
awareness about women's issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and
bringing women together in their communities, will take place at
Harmony’s Lakeshore Park on Saturday, October 25th, 2007. LUNAFEST
will follow Harmony’s 6th Annual Harvest Festival.

Smashing the Celluloid Ceiling
Florida's chapter of Women in Film and Television is making
inroads in the boys-club business.

Here’s a quick test: Name five film directors who have made an
impact on the American film industry. No problem, right? Spielberg,
Lucas, Hitchcock, Kubrick and John Ford. As a matter of fact, it’s
pretty hard to stop at five when you consider all the film classics
that have been produced since the early 20th century.

After a successful union in 2006, Women In Film &
Television – Florida (WIFT-FL) is pleased to announce its continued
association with the national Women In Film/General Motors
Alliance. The WIF/GM Alliance enables WIFT-FL to provide added
support for film festivals, educational seminars, lecture series,
PSAs, and mentorship/scholarship programs.
