Hit Makers Summit
August 28-30, 2010
With over 600 channels of television desperately needing content to fill the airwaves, there has never been a better time to pitch and sell original TV concepts. The road to a successful TV pitch can be filled with expensive potholes and when a show creator does not know the industry secrets to both securing and perfecting a pitch for a TV show.
The conference will bring together industry experts and TV show creators to interact one-on-one in a creative atmosphere to perfect their TV pitches. SellYourTvConceptNow.com has announced the special guest speakers:
- Doug Stanley, Emmy-winning producer of Discovery Networks’ top-rated series Deadliest Catch and 3D stereoscopic expert, will share the secrets on how to find the story within the reality.
- Scott Fishman, SpikeTV network executive, will reveal what networks do and don’t want to see in a pitch.
- Wayne Carter, Hollywood A-list screenwriter and master pitchman, will discuss character and story development. He will also lead breakout sessions with Summit members to help them perfect their concept and their pitch.
- Bill Suchy, series creator, Emmy-winning ABC/PBS producer and station manager, will discuss raising production funds and pitching to studios, networks and syndicates. Bill will also lead breakout sessions.
- Bill Wade, Emmy-winning1-sheet and broadcast designer, will work with every Summit member on their promotional materials and production graphics.
To support the recent enhancements of the Florida Production Incentive, SellYourTvConceptNow.com is offering a $600 discount to Florida residents. Call 407.351.0893 to take advantage of the Florida Residents discount.

The Point: Women Telling Stories Through Media
October 7 - 11,
2010
"To The Point: Women Telling Stories Through Media" is a program of short films to be presented at the Hampton's International Film Festival in Long Island, New York, Oct 7 - 11, 2010.
"To The Point" is offered exclusively to Women In Film & Television members, presented through a partnership between Women in Film & Television International and New York Women in Film & Television.
This unique showcase offers our members worldwide the opportunity to present their work at a major international film festival. Select short films will be screened at the 18th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival in East Hampton, New York. The deadline for submissions is July 1, 2010.
Throughout the past seven years, "To The Point" selections have encompassed fictional narratives, animation, documentaries and experimental films and videos. These exceptional works have brought original and unorthodox perspectives of both challenging and uplifting experiences of women throughout the world. Members of the film and television communities as well as general audiences have enthusiastically received the short films, some of which were also included in the Women in Film and Television International Showcase 2010 - giving even more world-wide exposure though this opportunity reserved for Women in Film & Television members only!
Films submitted to "To The Point" are first reviewed by a panel of NYWIFTmember filmmakers and then finalized by the Programming Department of the Hamptons International Film Festival.
We invite you to participate in this benefit of membership, the "To The Point" screenings, by downloading an application here.
Please note that submitting to "To The Point" does not automatically enter your film into other categories of The Hamptons International Film Festival. If you also wish to be considered for other categories of the HIFF Festival, submit directly to HIFF Shorts Category at www.hamptonsfilmfest.org.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Tanja Meding at tanja.meding@t-online.de.
