WIFT- Jacksonville-WIFT Wednesday

WIFT Info for June 19th at Brio Tuscan Grille @ St. John’s Town Center 6:30-9:00 p.m.

Our guest speaker will be Josh Hansbrough. He will be discussing how he got started in the business, why he chose to stay in Jacksonville and how one can grow their own career.

Josh Hansbrough began his career as a cinematographer for Action Sports movies and made-for-TV documentaries on the "Super Bowl of Surfing," the Triple Crown of Surfing. Following his international action sports endeavors, he began to focus his efforts on the art of storytelling, shedding light on social and environmental issues. His short film directorial debut was Riding the Wave of Autism, which earned him an Honorable Mention at the Blue Ocean Film Festival and the film premiered opening night of the 25th Annual Ft. Lauderdale International Film Festival with Ed Burn's film Nice Guy Johnny. (Ed Burns starred in Saving Private Ryan, 27 Dresses, Entourage.) Hansbrough recently directed the short documentary Peace of Heart, which has played at six film festivals, such as the Awareness Film Festival in Los Angeles and Washington West Film Festival in Washington D.C. These festivals' mission statements are "story can change the world" and "spotlighting filmmakers committed to making positive change throughout the world." Hansbrough has directing experience with commercials and branded entertainment with 4 million+ views. Some notable brands he's worked with as a cinematographer include the PGA Tour, Best Buy, NBC, Oakley, Red Bull, Mastercard, NASCAR Productions, Billabong, SoBe PepsiCo, Vans, Windowseat Pictures, and others.
